Since the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge launched in 2021 at the Westerville Public Library, families have read 201,844 books and counting thanks to your support.
Reading 1,000 books in your lifetime is no easy feat. That’s why when most Westerville parents learn about the challenge, they question if it’s possible to read that many books with their child before they start kindergarten.
Despite any hesitation parents may have about the challenge, Westerville resident, Courtney S. decided to sign up her son, Sam, for the program. As they began to read their way through 1,000 books, Courtney helped Sam prepare for kindergarten, boosted his literacy skills, and increased the quality time he spends with family.
